Made in Europe from vegetable-tanned leather, the many strands spread each stroke over a wide area, producing a fuller, more textured sensation than a single-tail whip, and the leather keeps its shape stroke after stroke.

The long strands are made for sweeping strokes from the shoulder rather than short flicks from the wrist. Begin by drawing the strands slowly over your partner's back and thighs, then let them land lightly to warm up the skin. Build pace and weight gradually, working in rhythmic figure-eights or alternating sides, and read your partner's breathing and body language as you go. Slower strokes feel like a deep, thuddy massage, while faster ones add sting at the tips. Make sure there is enough space around you to swing freely.
