These Darby-style handcuffs are modelled on the classic British police cuff, where the key screws into the lock instead of turning a quick push-button mechanism. Opening them takes a few deliberate turns, which makes the moment of release feel slower and more serious than with modern novelty cuffs. Each cuff closes in five positions, so you can set a snug fit for slim wrists or leave more room for broader ones. Cuffing the wrists in front is the easiest way to start; behind the back is more intense and puts more strain on the shoulders.

Close the cuff around the wrist, choose the position where one finger still fits between steel and skin, and avoid letting your partner pull or hang on the cuffs, because metal presses on the wrist bones.
