Blindfolds
Taking away sight heightens every touch, sound and kiss, which makes a blindfold the gentlest and most popular entry into power play. Choose a satin or lace mask from Ouch! for romance, a padded Red Leather blindfold that blocks all light, or a contoured 3D mask that leaves room for the eyes. Fluffy and printed designs add a touch of humour.

Which blindfold suits you
Satin and lace masks are light, comfortable and pretty, but may let in some light. Padded and contoured masks, such as the Red Leather Blind Up or the Ouch! 3D mask, block light completely and avoid pressure on the eyelids. Leather and faux leather blindfolds with buckles stay in place during more active play, while a velcro closure is quick to adjust. Bijoux Indiscrets adds refined designs that make a lovely gift.
Using a blindfold
Tell your partner what is happening, especially in the beginning: anticipation is exciting, sudden surprises can be unsettling. Combine it with soft touches, ice, a feather or massage candles to play with the senses. Remove the mask slowly afterwards so the eyes can adjust. Hand wash satin and lace, and wipe leather with a damp cloth.
Is a blindfold suitable for people new to BDSM?
Absolutely. It is easy, gentle and fully reversible, and a good way to build trust.
What can I add later?
Try cuffs for restraint, or move on to full hoods and masks for deeper sensory deprivation.
