Rope & Bondage Tape
Bondage rope and bondage tape are the most flexible restraints there are: rope lets you tie wrists, ankles and whole-body harnesses in any shape, from simple cuffs to Japanese shibari, and bondage tape sticks only to itself, so it wraps quickly and peels off without pulling hair. Rope suits people who enjoy the ritual of tying; tape suits quick, no-knot bondage.

We stock around 47 ropes and tapes from €5.95 to €53.95, almost all from Ouch! by Shots, with cotton ropes from Doc Johnson and braided jute from XR Brands. Japanese rope of 10 metres is our classic and the best-selling item in our order history.
Rope materials
Polyester (Ouch! Japanese and coloured ropes, 10 m, €9.95): smooth, soft, washable, does not shrink and comes in many colours. The easiest first rope.
Silk (Ouch! Silk Rope, 10 m, €12.95): very soft and glides over the skin; knots hold less firmly.
Cotton (Doc Johnson Cotton Rope, about 10 m, €16.95, and the Ouch! Cotton-Silk Blend): soft, grips well and holds knots, but can shrink when washed.
Nylon (Ouch! Kinbaku Rope 10 m and Japanese Rope 5 m): strong, smooth and slightly elastic.
Hemp and jute (Ouch! Shibari Rope 10 m in hemp with techniques, €14.95, and XR Premium Braided Jute, €25.95): the traditional shibari ropes; rougher, light, and they bite into the knot.
Glow in the dark (5 m and 10 m, polypropylene) and the 100 m Ouch! Japanese Bondage Rope (€53.95) for people who cut their own lengths.
Length
Short mini ropes of 1.5 m (€5.95) are enough for wrists or ankles. 5 m works for a simple tie or connecting cuffs to a bed. 10 m is the standard length for body harnesses and most shibari ties. Ropes in our range are mostly 0.5 to 0.8 cm thick, the usual diameter for body bondage.
Bondage tape
PVC bondage tape sticks only to itself, not to skin or hair. Wrap it around wrists, ankles or the whole body, and unwind or cut it off afterwards. Rolls of 17.5 m (€7.95) and 20 m (€9.95) come in several colours, and the Ouch! Black Bondage Tape Pack has three rolls (€21.95). Silk Bondage Ribbons (167 x 6 cm, €9.95) are a soft alternative for blindfolding or tying.
Tying safely
Never tie around the neck. Avoid tight wraps over the inside of the wrist, the upper arm and the back of the knee, where nerves run close to the surface. Check circulation often: cold, tingling, numbness or colour change means release at once. Never leave a tied person alone, and keep safety scissors within reach so you can cut the rope in seconds. Start with simple ties and learn knots that do not tighten under load.
Prefer a quicker start? Try cuffs and restraints or a ready-made bondage kit.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best rope for bondage beginners?
A soft 10 m polyester or cotton rope of about 6 to 8 mm thick. It is gentle on the skin, easy to knot and washable.
What is the difference between shibari rope and normal bondage rope?
Shibari traditionally uses hemp or jute: light, slightly rough and grippy, so knots hold. Soft synthetic ropes are smoother and easier for beginners.
How long should a bondage rope be?
1.5 m for wrists or ankles, 5 m for simple ties, 10 m for body harnesses and most shibari. Many people own several lengths.
Is bondage tape sticky?
No. It sticks only to itself, so it does not pull hair or leave residue on the skin.
How do I wash bondage rope?
Polyester and nylon can be hand washed in lukewarm water with mild detergent and air dried. Cotton may shrink; hemp and jute are usually only wiped and aired.
What do I need for safe rope bondage?
Safety scissors within reach, a safeword and a non-verbal signal, no rope around the neck, and frequent checks for numbness and circulation.
