A porn star pocket pussy is a small handheld masturbator whose opening is a copy of a real adult performer. Most of the models we sell come from Doc Johnson's signature stroker range, made in their soft UltraSkyn material, with a few pocket ass and pocket mouth versions next to them. This guide explains what you actually get, which performer models we carry, and how to keep one in good shape for as long as possible.

What "molded from" a performer means

For a signature stroker the manufacturer makes a cast of the performer's intimate area, with her consent and under a licence agreement. That cast becomes the mould for the outer opening, so the lips and the shape you see are a replica of hers. The inside is a different story: the canal is designed by the manufacturer, with ridges, nubs or massage beads, and is not a copy of anyone's anatomy.

So the performer's name tells you what the toy looks like from the outside. It tells you little about how it feels inside. If you are choosing between two names, compare the internal texture, the length and the width rather than the face on the box.

UltraSkyn and TPE: what the material does

UltraSkyn is Doc Johnson's trade name for its soft, skin-like material. Older boxes call it UR3. On our product pages it is listed under its technical name, thermoplastic elastomer or TPE, and it is phthalate-free. Pocket mouths and strokers from other brands, such as the SinsFactory Eva pocket mouth, are made of TPE as well.

What you need to know about TPE:

• It is very soft and stretchy, and it warms up to body temperature after a minute or two of use.
• It is slightly porous. Water and lube can stay behind in the surface, which is why drying matters so much.
• It reacts badly with silicone lube, oil, massage oil and lotion. These make the surface sticky or break it down.
• It picks up colour from dark fabrics and other toys if they touch during storage.

Texture, tightness and size

Pocket pussies are compact. The Doc Johnson models we carry are roughly 14 to 15 cm long with an insertable canal of about 13 to 14 cm, and 6 to 7 cm wide on the outside. Because the material is so soft, the canal stretches to fit most sizes, and you control the tightness yourself by how firmly you squeeze.

Texture is where models differ most. Some have a ribbed or nubbed canal, others have small massage beads that roll along the shaft. A textured canal feels more intense with less movement; a smoother one suits longer sessions.

Open end or closed end

An open end means the canal runs straight through the toy. That has two advantages: you can rinse it from both sides, which makes cleaning much easier, and a longer penis simply passes through instead of hitting the back. A closed end gives a bit more suction because the air cannot escape, but it is harder to clean and dry. Performers no longer in our range

Customers still ask for the Lily LaBeau pocket pussy, the Bobbi Starr pocket ass and The Briana pocket pussy and ass. These used to be in our range and are no longer available. How to use a pocket pussy

• Warm it up. Hold it under warm, not hot, tap water for a minute, or let it lie in a bowl of warm water. Dry the outside so it does not slip.
• Use plenty of water-based lubricant, both in the opening and on yourself. Never silicone lube or oil, as explained above.
• Start slowly. Use a loose grip first and squeeze harder as you go.
• Add lube when the glide gets less smooth. TPE absorbs a little of it during use.

Cleaning, drying and storage

Clean the toy right after use, while the lube is still wet. Rinse the canal with lukewarm water, using a little mild unscented soap or a toy cleaner. With an open end, let the water run through from both sides. Do not use alcohol, bleach, boiling water or the dishwasher: they damage the material.

Drying is the step people skip, and it decides how long the toy lasts. Pat the outside dry, then let the canal air dry completely, standing on its end or on a clean towel, for several hours. Once it is fully dry, dust the surface lightly with renewing powder or plain cornstarch. The powder takes away the slightly sticky feel that TPE gets over time. Do not use talcum powder.

Store it on its own in a bag or box, away from sunlight and heat, and away from other toys and dark fabrics to avoid colour transfer.

How long does a pocket pussy last?

That depends mostly on how it is cleaned and dried. With water-based lube, careful drying and a little powder, a TPE stroker can last for many months of regular use. Replace it when you see tears in the opening, when the surface stays sticky after powdering, or when a smell or dark spots no longer wash out.

Pocket pussy or a bigger masturbator?

A pocket pussy is small, light and quick to clean, and it is easy to store out of sight. The trade-off is less length and less control over suction. Larger models such as the Blair Williams Main Squeeze sit in a hard shell with squeezable sides and an adjustable end cap for suction, with more than 22 cm of insertable length.
